October family dinner

We took over 90 photos of our trip but after going over the credit card receipts, I realized we ate our way across Oregon so this one seemed most appropriate!

Actually, tho, I'm posting to remind everyone about family dinner this Sunday. Kelly is bringing the kid friendly dessert but I still need a salad (or 2) and bread to go with lasagna.

Missed you all while we were away (really!) and looking forward to Sunday.

Our little man is one!

Just a little reminder about Devin's party. I have heard some who couldn't but I need just a bit of a head count for goodie bags (I don't want to be stuck with a bunch). I hope everyone can come. We are going to be doing this up at our HOA park.

Hello family! As we all know Josh's 20th birthday is approaching... In honor of this special day, Josh is requesting that in lieu of buying him a gift, you make a "contribution" to his Pearl Jam ticket fund.

Thank you so much for attending our camp party, in Fountain Green. We had a blast & hope to do it again next year. I will book a date in the beginning of January, so hopefully everyone will have more notice next time! The area is so beautiful, I would even suggest that we do a nice family photo next year while we are there! anyway, thanks again to those who were able to make it, it meant a lot to Tim & I (& the kids). Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees is putting together a cookbook and they are looking for recipes from board members and committee members. If you have a recipe you would like to submit they are due on Sept. 30. They are also going to include children's artwork. I don't know how it will be chosen (I don't want anyone disappointed!) but if any of the kids want to submit a picture it needs to be Christmas or Festival themed, drawn on white paper with colored markers with their name and age included. It also needs to be turned in by Sept. 30. I have a meeting on Sept. 8 if you would like me to take any recipes or artwork in at that time.
As a side note, yes, I am doing this AGAIN! You have all been a wonderful support and I will understand if you feel you have had enough! Just let me know. (The little felt project is very easy this year!)

Waterslide II

We are cancelling the waterslide. There aren't enough families to make it worth the cost. We'll try earlier next summer and give more notice.

Chris and Jen have arranged to have the giant waterslide again to close out the summer. The only day (and evening) available is Friday, August 21. See more info on Chris' Facebook page or give them a call.

Farewell

We are finally beginning our inner-city mission in two weeks. We have training on August 8-9 and then will be assigned to a ward. The bishop just realized we were departing so this Sunday (June 26) he has asked us to speak in Sacrament meeting (11:00 a.m) I guess it's a "Farewell" of sorts! (No food or minions of groupies!) This is just to let you know and not a summons to appear!

Family dinner

Thank you all for spending the 4th with the family! It was great fun! To spread out all this "fun" I am putting family dinner off one week. We will celebrate Pioneer day early, on Sunday the 19, with a backyard barbeque, homemade rootbeer and ice cream and some pioneer games for the kids. Let me know if you will be able to make it (I know it's a different Sunday and you may have plans) and I let you know what you can bring.
It really was fun to spend the day with you all!

4th of July

Here's the plan for Saturday...JoAnn and I want to do "easy" so we are going to get pizza. You can bring something to go with it such as salad, fruit, dessert or drinks. Let me know so we don't end up with a cooler full of pop and nothing else! We will plan on eating around 5:00 but Dad and I will be up at Grandpa's most of the day so come anytime. Depending on the weather, we may be outside some so throw in your lawn chairs (I think Grandpa got rid of those red chairs). Looking forward to seeing you!

A Great Day at the Zoo!

We had a wonderful time at the Zoo yesterday. It wasn't too crowded and the weather was perfect--no rain, lots of sunshine and a gentle breeze! We saw lots of animals (even hissing cockaroaches--yuck!), rode the carousel (I got a picture of everyone on their favorite animal), ate lunch in a cool, shady spot and then rode the train. We missed all the cousins who couldn't go so we will do it again in July. Thanks for coming with us!

I just want to say Happy Fathers Day to my Dad! You are the best dad I could ever ask for!

Happy Father's Day to my favorite Dads!! Who would have thought in 1981 that someday these handsome guys would be Dads to the greatest grandkids ever! I look back at this time and tho it was exhausting, they were great years. (Doesn't that couch bring back memories?) You were awesome kids who grew up to be awesome fathers. So have a great Father's Day and know that this Mom is very proud of all of you!

Going to the Zoo!

My grandparent pass to the Zoo expires the end of this month so I was thinking of going to the Zoo on Tuesday morning (the 23rd). The weather is suppose to be nice (Horray!!) We could be there when it opens (not sure if that's 9 or 10) and bring lunch. I can get six kids in on my pass and will pay for any extra. Hope you can make it!

To start this off I just wanted to let everyone know about the Grocery Smarts Class on Wednesday. It starts at 6:30 and will be quite short. It will be at Mom's house (thanks Mom).
